Jonathan Martin began his racing career in 1997 at the age of eight and has been picking up speed ever since. At age 16, he became the 2005 Baer Field Speedway Street Stock Champion. Jonathan is mature far beyond his years and it shows in his driving and the respect he has earned from his fellow competitors.
It did not take Jonathan very long to demonstrate his prowess behind the wheel. Jonathan will race anything he can get his hands on. He knows that every time he gets behind the wheel, he will learn a little more and that's what has made him a three time champion. His charming demeanor and quick wit make Jonathan one of the most approachable and unique personalities at the track. Jonathan is always good for a laugh, yet he is focused and driven to succeed. Combining his on-track talent with his winning attitude makes Jonathan a fan favorite.
At the age of 10 Jonathan earned his first track championship in the BFS Karts. He made his first appearance in stock cars at the age of 14. Being a quick learner, he became one of the youngest stock car drivers to win a feature at Baer Field Speedway. Jonathan has earned three championship titles and scored over 79 event victories in his racing career, as well as being selected Sportsman of the Year on five occasions.
At the present Jonathan's 2011 plans include driving his #30 modified in the USA Modified Series and at Baer Field Speedway. It is our desire for Jonathan to be involved with a driver development team through a series that would eventually lead to fulfilling his dream of racing in NASCAR. Jonathan gives 100% in pursuit of his dream and it is obvious that he will continue winning for a long time to come.
Jonathan is a winner on and off the track. He is in his fourth year as a Mechanical Engineering student at IUPUI. When he is not working on the race car, he goes to the kart races to help the young up coming drivers and has served as the flagman for the BFS Karting series.
The Lord has used Jonathan on and off the track to share his testimony with others. When Jonathan speaks to youth groups he challenges others to use the abilities God has blessed them with to honor the Lord and make a difference in the lives of others. There are greater trophies to win than those from a race track.
